Have You Seen Him?

Reflection 15 from Matters of the Heart

“Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” – John 20:25

Do not be so preoccupied with the troubles and cares of this world, so much so that you miss the Lord’s visit as Thomas did on that very Sunday evening. Do not race through life that you fail to see the Lord in all His glory, rather commune with Him along with the assembly of the believers. Do not miss the opportunity to hear the Lord utter His words of comfort, “Peace be with you” because you were absent and going about your business. Rather ensure that your life’s priority is to seek the Lord with every intention and to believe in His life-giving truths. And rest assured your intent will be honoured, and the Lord will manifest Himself to you, granting you the blessings of beholding His glory and witnessing to the sacrifice of your Saviour. To which your only suitable response will be that of Thomas, “My Lord and my God!”

Prayer:

My Lord, help me remove the cares of this world from before my eyes in order that I may behold Your glory.
