Labour for the Lord

Matthew 28:18-20
The apostles were appointed as trusted labourers for the Lord, sent out as forerunners to prepare the way for the coming Messiah. The seventy were sent into every city and every place to speak as the Lord speaks, to heal as He heals, and to cast out demons in His name. These chosen few were an extension of God, His very hands and feet in the world. And we too as members of His precious body are entrusted to bring the Lord’s love and compassion to those with whom we come into contact.
Let us strive then to become messengers of hope, guiding those who have lost their way. Let us lend the Lord’s healing hands to those who have been severely broken, or simply offer comfort to the downcast and refuge to the rejected. There is no greater gift to offer one’s neighbour than to bring them into the very presence of Christ.
Prayer
Grant me the honour O Lord to be Your hands and feet on this earth, to become the instrument by which Your good work is done.
